Abstract:
A method for producing glass-coated aluminum nitride particles, comprising: a first step of mixing a mixture of aluminum nitride particles and a composition powder containing a glass component while applying a shearing force by a mechanochemical method; a second step of heat-treating the mixture at a temperature that is equal to or higher than the glass transition temperature of the glass component and is equal to or lower than 2000°C; and a third step of grinding the heat-treatment product. The glass-coated aluminum nitride particles can have excellent moisture resistance reliability while keeping the heat conductivity and the electrical insulation property both inherent in the aluminum nitride particles. The glass-coated aluminum nitride particles are useful as a filler for heat-dissipating material use that can be used in, for example, the electric/electronic field.
