Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a glass material having high light transmittance. The method for manufacturing a glass material, which is a paramagnetic glass material, comprises: a step for adding CeO2 to a glass raw material containing FeO and/or Fe2O3; and a melting step for melting the CeO2-added glass raw material in a vacuum atmosphere, an inert atmosphere, or a reducing atmosphere.
