Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a cutting step for cutting a glass ribbon G, which is moving downward in a vertical orientation, along the width direction of the glass ribbon G at a standard cut length L0 so as to obtain a glass plate g; and a determination step for determining the presence/absence of damage to a determination target which is a part including at least one of the glass ribbon G and the glass plate g after the cutting in the cutting step. If it is determined in the determination step that there is damage to the determination target, the glass ribbon G will be, in the next cutting step, cut at an extended cut length L1 which is longer than the standard cut length L0.
