Abstract:

A method for producing a graft copolymer, which is characterized in that a radically polymerizable monomer is living radical graft polymerized to a rubber component, which is composed of a natural rubber and/or a synthetic diene rubber, in an aqueous medium in the presence of a polymerization control agent. A rubber composition containing a graft copolymer obtained by the method. A tire using the rubber composition in a constituent part thereof. Specifically disclosed are: a method for efficiently producing a graft copolymer, wherein a radically polymerizable monomer, in particular a functional group-containing radically polymerizable monomer is living radical graft polymerized to a natural rubber and/or a synthetic diene rubber; a rubber composition containing a graft copolymer obtained by the method and having excellent low heat generation, wear resistance and fracture behavior; and a tire using the rubber composition in a constituent part thereof and having the above-mentioned characteristics.
