Abstract:
To introduce a halogen into a material such as a protein without using an oxidizing agent, provided is a method for producing a halide, said method being characterized by comprising a step for applying a voltage to a solution that contains a material to be halogenated and a halogen, or a step for applying a voltage to a solution that contains a halogen and then adding a material to be halogenated to the solution, wherein the material to be halogenated is a protein, a peptide, a boron cluster or a low-molecular compound containing an aromatic ring.
