Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing a high-purity caustic potash with a comparatively
simple process, which satisfies recent demands for caustic potash of higher
purity. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a high-purity caustic
potash wherein an aqueous caustic potash solution containing not more than 200
mg/kg of sodium and 15 mg/kg of chlorine in terms of potassium chloride when the
caustic potash concentration is 48% is kept at a high temperature, thereby obtaining
a high-purity caustic potash hardly containing impurities such as sodium, chlorine,
and heavy metals such as iron, chromium and nickel by crystallization.
