Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a high-purity pitch for high-efficiency carbon materials, comprising the steps of: preparing a mixture by mixing a coal tar-based raw material, a first solvent and a second solvent; separating a supernatant fraction which does not contain an insoluble content and a sludge fraction which contains an insoluble content from the mixture by a centrifugal or decanting method; and removing the first solvent and the second solvent by subjecting the supernatant fraction which does not contain an insoluble content to vacuum distillation at a temperature of 280°C or less to obtain a high-purity pitch, wherein the first solvent is a single solvent of a monocyclic aromatic compound having at least one substituent having aggregability to beta-resins and quinoline insoluble contents, and the second solvent is an aromatic compound which is soluble in beta-resins and pitches.
