Disclosed is a method for producing a hologram recording medium (10), which is characterized by comprising: a step wherein a photosensitive material precursor (18) in the form of a liquid or a gel is brought into contact with the surfaces of thermosoftening layers (15, 17) by using substrates (11, 12) which comprise bases (14, 16) and the thermosoftening layers (15, 17) formed on the bases (14, 16) and having lower midpoint glass transition temperatures than the materials forming the bases (14, 16); a step wherein a recording layer (13) is formed by curing the photosensitive material precursor (18); and a step wherein the thermosoftening layers (15, 17) are heated at a temperature higher than the extrapolated glass transition initiation temperatures of the thermosoftening layers (15, 17) but lower than the midpoint glass transition temperatures of the bases (14, 16) during or after the formation of the recording layer (13).
