Abstract:
A method of producing a honeycomb structure body, in which information relative to a honeycomb formed body and/or a honeycomb fired body is efficiently applied to the bodies or a body without affecting characteristics of the bodies or the body. This enables the information is effectively used for a production history and production management. In the method, columnar honeycomb formed bodies in each of which a large number of cells are arranged side by side in the longitudinal direction with cell walls in between them are produced, the honeycomb formed bodies are defatted and fired to form honeycomb fired bodies, and after that a binding process is performed where the honeycomb fired bodies are bound together with seal material layers in between them. Processes before the binding process include a process in which information is drawn on a side face of a honeycomb formed body and/or a honeycomb fired body by at least one of the following kinds: a figure, a sign, a letter, a barcode, and two-dimensional code.
