The invention relates to methods for obtaining graphite for producing electrodes for lithium-ion chemical current sources. The inventive method for producing thermally expanded graphite consists in producing an intercalated graphite paste, thermally treating said paste by electric heating, removing different reaction products and reheating thermally expanded graphite by the direct passage of current in the same reactor.
