Abstract:
A method for producing a hydrofluoroolefin according to the present invention causes a chlorofluoroolefin having 8 or less carbon atoms, said chlorofluoroolefin being represented by formula (I) or formula (II), to react with a hydrogen molecule in the presence of an intermetallic compound containing at least one first metal selected from the group consisting of palladium and the like and a second metal that is different from the first metal, thereby obtaining a hydrofluoroolefin wherein at least a chlorine atom represented by Cl among the chlorine atoms contained in formula (I) or formula (II) is substituted by a hydrogen atom. In formula (I) or formula (II), each of R1 to R10 represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom or an alkyl group which may be substituted by a fluorine atom or a chlorine atom; at least one fluorine atom is contained in formula (I) or formula (II); and n represents an integer from 0 to 5.
