Abstract:
A first method for producing a hydroxy-substituted aromatic compound according to the invention involves a step (contact step) of bringing a hydroxy-substituted aromatic compound into contact with an organic solvent and/or water in an atmosphere in which the oxygen concentration is less than 20 vol%. A second method for producing a hydroxy-substituted aromatic compound according to the invention involves a step of bringing, into contact with an acidic aqueous solution, a solution (α) including a hydroxy-substituted aromatic compound and an organic solvent that does not discretionarily mix with water, to extract metal contents in the hydroxy-substituted aromatic compound.
