Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an easy method for producing hydroxylated chalcones and flavanones. The present invention relates to a method for producing hydroxylated chalcones and flavanones, the method being characterized in that bismuth chloride is used. In a demethoxymethylation step, target chalcones or target flavanones are obtained efficiently as a single product, and thus the present invention can provide an effective method for producing chalcones and flavanones where purification is easily performed.
