Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing hypotaurine and/or taurine. Hypotaurine and/or taurine are produced by: incubating in culture medium a microorganism capable of producing L-cysteine, the microorganism being modified so as to increase cysteine dioxygenase activity and sulfinoalanine decarboxylase activity; and harvesting the hypotaurine and/or taurine.
