Abstract:
This method for producing indane is provided with a dehydrogenation step in which a raw material composition containing tetrahydroindene is brought into contact with a dehydrogenation catalyst under a temperature condition of 150-300°C to obtain a reaction product containing indane, wherein the dehydrogenation catalyst contains an aluminum-containing carrier, and a Group 14 metal element and platinum which are carried on the carrier, and the atomic ratio of the Group 14 metal element to the platinum in the dehydrogenation catalyst is 9 or more.
