Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing an isocyanate compound containing an ethylenically unsaturated group, characterized by comprising: (i) a step of subjecting a tri-substituted urea compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein symbols are as defined in the description) to a thermal decomposition reaction in a solution containing hydrogen chloride at a temperature of 50-200˚C (a thermal decomposition step); (ii), subsequent to the completion of the thermal decomposition step, a step of blowing a hydrogen chloride gas into a reaction solution that is held at the above-mentioned temperature (an aging step A); and (iii), subsequent to the completion of the aging step A, a step of further holding the reaction solution at the above-mentioned temperature (an aging step B). According to the present invention, an isocyanate compound containing an ethylenically unsaturated group can be produced with high yield and steadily while reducing the production of by-products to a great extent, without requiring the use of phosgene as a raw material and without requiring any hydrochloric acid removal step.
