Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a basic amino acid such as L-lysine. A basic amino acid or a fermentation product containing the same is produced by a method comprising: (A) a step for obtaining a fermentation liquid containing a basic amino acid by culture of a microorganism having basic amino acid-producing capability in a medium such that bicarbonate ions and/or carbonate ions become the counter ions of the basic amino acid; and (B) a step for heat treatment of the fermentation liquid at a pressure capable of preventing generation of carbon dioxide from the fermentation liquid.
