Abstract:
Lignin having a low softening point can be produced by bringing a lignin-containing biomass into contact with an alkaline aqueous solution to subject the biomass to alkali treatment, and adjusting the resulting alkali treatment product to 35°C or higher and pH 7 or lower to precipitate the lignin.
