Abstract:
A synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is produced from a carbon-containing material such as natural gas, at least one kind selected from the group consisting of H2O, O2 and CO2, and a recycled low boiling-point component which is separated from a lower paraffin-containing gas. A lower paraffin-containing gas which includes the low boiling-point component that has a boiling point or a sublimation point lower than the boiling point of propane is produced from the synthesis gas in the presence of a catalyst. The hydrocarbons contained in the lower paraffin-containing gas are mainly composed of propane or butane. An LPG mainly containing propane or butane is obtained by separating the low boiling-point component from the lower paraffin-containing gas, and the separated low boiling-point component is recycled as a material for synthesis gas production.
