Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing low-carbon ferrochrome, whereby it becomes possible to allow a reduction reaction of chromium oxide to proceed even at a low base degree. The method for producing low-carbon ferrochrome comprises: a first step (S1) for melting chromium ore and calcined lime in an electric furnace; and a second step (S2) for charging a molten raw material that has been melted in the first step (S1) (also referred to as a "primary slag", hereinafter) and a reducing agent into a reaction container and then stirring the primary slag and the reducing agent together to produce low-carbon ferrochrome and a secondary slag. In the second step (S2), a gas bottom blowing device in which a slit-type plug is provided at a center part of the bottom of a reaction container is used, and the stirring gas amount per 1 t of the total charged raw material in the second step (S2) is set to 25 Nl/min to 500 Nl/min.
