Abstract:
Disclosed are: a method for producing a magnesium alloy sheet that has excellent pressability; and a magnesium alloy coil material which is obtained by winding up the magnesium alloy sheet. Specifically, a material plate (1) that is composed of a magnesium alloy is preheated to a temperature not more than 280°C, the heated material plate (1) is rolled with rolling rolls (3), and the thus-obtained long rolled sheet is wound up. The surface temperature of the rolling rolls (3) is set at 230-290°C (inclusive). The preheating, rolling and winding processes are repeated. By respectively setting both the material plate (1) and the rolling rolls (3) at specific temperatures, the material plate can have enhanced rollability and thus can be continuously rolled in a good state. In addition, temperature unevenness of the rolling rolls in the width direction can be suppressed and uniform rolling can be performed, so that a long magnesium alloy sheet is obtained. The thus-obtained magnesium alloy sheet has sufficient processing strain that is introduced by the rolling, while being suppressed in coarsening of the crystal grain size. Consequently, the magnesium alloy sheet has excellent pressability. In addition, the magnesium alloy sheet does not easily suffer from winding deviation and is capable of providing a coil material that has excellent appearance.
