Abstract:
This method for producing a metal member includes: a step for preparing a first member (10) comprising a first metal, and a second member (20) comprising a second metal having a smaller deformation resistance than the first metal; and a step for joining the first member (10) and the second member (20). The step for joining the first member (10) and the second member (20) includes: a step for pressing the first member (10) and the second member (20) together and relatively rotating said members around the axis of rotation without changing the relative positional relationship, thereby heating the first member (10) and the second member (20); and a step for cooling the heated first member (10) and second member (20) while being pressed together. A first contact surface (11), which is the surface where the first member (10) and the second member (20) are in contact, has a recessed portion (19) formed therein so as to include a region that intersects the axis of rotation. Thus, a metal member having a structure in which the members comprising different metals are directly joined is obtained.
