Abstract:
This method for producing metal oxide particles comprises: a step in which a CnH2nO2 (where n=5 to 14) fatty acid, a metal of two or more metal elements selected from a group consisting of Zn, In, Sn and Sb, and a metal source comprising a metal oxide or a metal hydroxide are mixed together to form a mixture; a step in which the mixture is heated to a temperature at or above the melting temperature of the fatty acid, but less than the decomposition temperature, to obtain a metal soap which is the precursor of the metal oxide particles; and a step in which the precursor is heated to a temperature at or above the melting temperature of the precursor and less than the decomposition temperature, thereby obtaining metal oxide particles having an average particle diameter not exceeding 80 nm.
