Abstract:

A method for producing a metal powder, which comprises contacting a metal chloride gas with a reducing gas, to give a metal powder, and washing the metal powder with aqueous solution of carbonic acid, and preferably subjecting the washed powder to classification in water. The method allows the production of a metal power, such as a nickel powder, containing an extremely small amount of residual chlorine and having a small content of a coarse powder.
