Abstract:
A method for producing (meth)acrolein by the vapor-phase catalytic oxidation of propylene or isobutylene in a multitubular reactor having a plurality of reaction tubes which are each equipped with a reaction zone packed with a catalyst comprising molybdenum oxide and a cooling zone packed with one or more inert substances, wherein a heat medium flowing outside the cooling zone has a lower temperature than a heat medium flowing outside the reaction zone and the inert substances include an inert substance having a major-axis length which is at least 1.7 times that of the catalyst; and a method for producing (meth)acrylic acid in which the obtained (meth)acrolein is converted to (meth)acrylic acid by vapor-phase catalytic oxidation.
