Abstract:
The present invention is capable of producing a methacrylic resin that is suitable for an optical film, and has excellent transparency and color during production of the film, with less defects such as fish eyes by adding a polymeric dispersant (A) represented by general formula (1) and an inorganic salt and/or organic salt (B) composed of an alkali metal salt, alkaline earth metal salt or ammonium salt when subjecting methyl methacrylate alone or a monomer mixture of which methyl methacrylate is one component to suspension polymerization. (In the formula, n=10-60 mol%, m=40-90 mol%, R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, R2 is an alkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms, and M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, or NH4.)
