Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing a modified cellulose, comprising the following step A. Step A: a step of introducing a substituent having 6 or more carbon atoms into a group generated by removing a hydrogen atom from a hydroxyl group in the cellulose backbone of a cellulose raw material in the presence of water and a surfactant. The present invention relates to a method for producing a modified cellulose having high affinity for a hydrophobic medium such as an organic solvent and a resin by using a reaction system that is environment-friendly and is expected to be reduced in production cost.
