Abstract:
According to the present invention, a modified conjugated diene polymer that has high Mooney viscosity and good shape stability, while exhibiting excellent processability and low heat generation properties is obtained in as few steps as possible. According to the present invention, a modified conjugated diene polymer is produced by a method wherein a conjugated diene polymer having an active terminal and obtained by polymerizing a monomer containing a conjugated diene compound in the presence of an initiator that contains an alkali metal compound and/or an alkaline earth metal compound is reacted with a compound (M) having two or more groups in total, said groups being selected from among -C(R1)=N-A1 groups and -N=C(R1)-A1 groups (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbyl group; and A1 represents a monovalent group having an alkoxysilyl group).
