Abstract:
The method for producing α-olefin comprises: a step 1 of obtaining a reaction mixture by continuously introducing ethylene and a catalyst into a reactor, mixing, and carrying out a polymerization reaction; a step 2 of continuously separating the reaction mixture into a gas A and a liquid B at a flasher having a separated droplet diameter dL according to formula (1) of not more than 1.0 × 10-4 m; a step 3 of contacting the gas A with a solvent in a scrubber to obtain a gas C containing unreacted ethylene and a liquid D containing the solvent; and a step 4 of reutilizing the gas C in a polymerization reaction. (In formula (1), v represents the ascending velocity (m/s) of the gas in the flasher, ρV represents the density (kg/m3) of the gas A, ρL represents the density (kg/m3) of the liquid B, g represents gravitational acceleration (m/s2), and μ represents the viscosity (Pa·s) of the gas A.)
