Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing an organic acid, whereby it becomes possible to eliminate a procedure for adjusting a pH value to a nearly neutral value in a fermentation step and it also becomes possible to collect a desired organic acid with high efficiency.
A method for producing an organic acid, comprising: a first step of producing the organic acid through fermentation to obtain a crude solution containing the organic acid and having a pH value of 1 to 5; and a second step of extracting the organic acid from the crude solution containing the organic acid obtained in the first step with an extraction medium containing an ester compound and an alkylamine compound to obtain an extract (1).
