Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing an oxide with which an oxide of an organic compound can be obtained efficiently in the presence of a raw material for a Pt/Bi composite catalyst, and a method for producing a Pt/Bi composite catalyst with which it is possible to produce a catalyst exhibiting high activity in a dehydrogenation oxidation reaction of an organic compound, even in the present of an organic compound which is the raw material of an oxide. Provided is a method for producing an oxide, wherein an organic compound that has one primary hydroxyl group is subjected to a dehydrogenation oxidation reaction in the presence of water and a Pt, Bi ion source supported by a carrier, in conditions such that the minimum pH value during the reaction is less than 7, so as to obtain an oxide of the organic compound.
