Abstract:
A method for producing a PET foam element is described. A PET melt is produced in an extruder (AE). One or more first self-nucleating blowing agents (T1) are added. A second blowing agent (T2) is added, which has a vapour pressure at 100°C of not more than 40 bar. The PET melt admixed with the first and second blowing agents (T1; T2) is homogenized. The following steps come next: cooling of the mixture to a predetermined temperature, and (f) guiding of the homogenized PET melt through a discharge nozzle.
