Abstract:

Provided are a method for producing a phosphor-encapsulating capillary tube in which, after encapsulation of a phosphor, fluorescence emitted from the phosphor hardly leaks from an end portion, and the phosphor-encapsulating capillary tube. One end portion (10A) of an elongated glass capillary tube (10) having a cross-section elongated in the width direction is heated until the one end portion (10A) of the glass capillary tube (10) is melted and sealed by fusion.
