Abstract:
This method for producing polyarylene sulfide (PAS) comprises: a polymerization step; a dehydration step; a hydrogen sulfide recovery step in which the hydrogen sulfide contained in the gas component generated by the dehydration step is absorbed by an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide and is recovered; and a condensation step for condensing the gas component generated by the dehydration step. The hydrogen sulfide recovery step is performed before the condensation step.
