Abstract:
Disclosed is a method wherein (8S)-2-{(E)-2-[6-methoxy-5-(4-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)pyridin-2-yl]vinyl}-8-[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-5,6,7,8- tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine represented by formula (I) or salt thereof, which is useful for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Down's syndrome, can be sufficiently advantageously produced on commercial basis by subjecting a compound represented by formula (II) (wherein X represents a halogen atom) or a slat thereof and a compound represented by formula (III) or a salt thereof to a coupling reaction.
