Abstract:
A method for producing a polyimide wherein a dehydrating agent and an imidation catalyst are added to a polar organic solvent solution of a polyimide precursor which is prepared from a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride compound and a diamine compound, to form a solution, the resultant solution is cast onto a support, followed by heating and drying, to thereby effect an imidation reaction, characterized in that the imidation catalyst is diethylpyridine. The above method can be suitably used for producing a polyimide film exhibiting good film qualities such as mechanical properties and adhesive strength with high productivity.
