Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary batteries, which comprises: a water washing step wherein a lithium nickel composite oxide containing lithium (Li), nickel (Ni) and an element M (M) (the element M is composed of at least one element that is selected from among Mn, V, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ti, Co and Al) is cleaned with water and filtered, thereby obtaining a cleaned cake; a charging step wherein the cleaned cake, which is an object to be dried, and a tungsten compound that does not contain lithium are charged into a dryer; and drying step wherein the object to be dried is dried by the dryer, while being flowed. The charging step has a time period where the cleaned cake and the tungsten compound that does not contain lithium are supplied to the dryer at the same time.
