Abstract:
The method for producing a pour-point depressant composition from glycerol provided by present invention makes it possible to produce a pour-point depressant composition that can markedly reduce the pour point, by comprising a step for making propanediol (C3H8O2) by fermenting glycerol {C3H5(OH)3} by using of a strain of a microorganism, a step for making CH2=C(CH3)-OH from the propanediol (C3H8O2) via a dehydration reaction, and a step for making CH2=C(CH3)-COOR by subjecting the CH2=C(CH3)-OH to an esterification reaction using an RCOOH, and further comprising a step for mixing the CH2=C(CH3)-COOR and a C5 to C12 alkylbenzene.
