Abstract:
A method for producing a purified lignin wherein: a plant-derived biomass is subjected to a treatment under specific conditions in a first mixed solvent that is composed of water and a first organic solvent; after the treatment, the resulting material is subjected to solid-liquid separation to be separated into a first mixed solution and a solid content that is insoluble in the first mixed solution; a second mixed solution is obtained by mixing the first mixed solution, from which the insoluble solid content has been separated, and a second organic solvent excluding the first organic solvent and having a dipole moment of 0.25 d or less; and a solid content that is insoluble in the second mixed solution is separated by solid-liquid separation, thereby extracting a purified lignin in the liquid phase of the second mixed solution.
