Abstract:

Provided is method for producing a rail that can reduce bending of the rail in the height direction before correction, in the producing of ordinary rails specified in JIS E 1101. A method for producing a rail according to the present disclosure is characterized by comprising: a step for hot-rolling a slab and obtaining a rail, the slab comprising 0.60-0.85 mass% of C, 0.10-1.00 mass% of Si, 0.10-1.30 mass% of Mn, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities; a step for accelerating cooling of the rail under conditions in which the cooling starting temperature T1 of a rail head is 750°C-850°C, the cooling stopping temperature T2 of the rail head is more than 700°C, and T1-T2 is 20°C or more; and then a step for cooling the rail.
