Abstract:
A method for producing a rare earth magnet, which comprises: a step for preparing a hydrogenated powder which contains a plurality of hydrogenated particles that contain Nd, Fe, Al and B, and which has been subjected to a hydrogenation treatment that is performed in an atmosphere containing hydrogen at a temperature that is not less than the disproportionation temperature; a step for producing a powder molded body by press molding the hydrogenated powder; a step for producing a dehydrogenated product, which has a main phase of an Nd2Fe14B compound and a grain boundary phase that is formed at the grain boundary of the main phase, while containing Nd and Al and having a lower melting point than the main phase, by subjecting the powder molded body to a dehydrogenation treatment in an inert atmosphere or in a reduced pressure atmosphere at a temperature that is not less than the recombination temperature; and a step for covering the main phase by melting the grain boundary phase.
