Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel production method that makes it possible to produce reduced coenzyme Q10 efficiently, yet safely and easily. The method for producing reduced coenzyme Q10 according to the present invention is characterized by including a step for generating oxidized coenzyme Q10 that brings the water removed into contact with an oxidizing atmosphere while removing water from an aqueous suspension including reduced coenzyme Q10-containing microbial cells or a crushed product thereof and makes the ratio of oxidized coenzyme Q10 be 50 mass% or more relative to the total weight of oxidized and reduced coenzyme Q10, and a step for regenerating reduced coenzyme Q10 that reduces the oxidized coenzyme Q10 obtained in the oxidized coenzyme Q10 generation step outside the microbial cells.
