Abstract:
The present invention provides an efficient production method for obtaining reduced coenzyme Q10 crystals of Form II that is a stable crystalline form. The production method of the present invention comprises a step for adding a Form II crystal as a seed crystal to a liquid mixture containing ethanol and reduced coenzyme Q10 and a step for precipitating Form II crystals, wherein, before the addition of the seed crystal, the concentration Ci of dissolved reduced coenzyme Q10 is equal to or higher than the saturation concentration of Form II crystals and lower than the saturation concentration of Form I crystals at the temperature Ti at which the seed crystal is added, and in the step for precipitating the crystals, the temperature Tp of the liquid mixture is controlled so that the concentration Cp of dissolved reduced coenzyme Q10 becomes equal to or higher than the saturation concentration of Form II crystals and lower than the saturation concentration of Form I crystals.
