Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing reduced iron, said method being capable of economically and efficiently increasing the carbon content in an iron oxide product. The provided method includes: a step for generating reduced iron by bringing oxidized iron into contact with a reducing gas inside a reducing furnace (10); a step for generating reformed gas by supplying, to inside a reformer (40), a process gas generated by adjusting a furnace gas in the reducing furnace (10); a step for supplying the generated reformed gas to the reducing furnace (10) as a reducing gas; and a step for introducing some of the reformed gas into a cooling area (18) inside the reducing furnace (10).
