Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a method for producing, from low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene, refined polytetrafluoroethylene powder in which short-chain fluorine compounds are reduced. The present disclosure is a method for producing refined polytetrafluoroethylene powder from low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene powder obtained through radical polymerization, the method including a step for reducing short-chain fluorine compounds, where at least compounds represented by general formula (1) are reduced to 179 ppb or less and compounds represented by general formula (2) are reduced to 6900 ppb or less in the abovementioned step.
