Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a method for producing a resin particle dispersion, which comprises the steps of (1) mixing a polyester resin with a basic aqueous solution to produce a resin neutralization product and (2) adding an aqueous medium to the resin neutralization product produced in step (1) to emulsify the resultant mixture, wherein the ester group concentration in the polyester resin is 6.3 to 12 mmol/g, the pH value of the basic aqueous solution is 8.5 to 13.5 at 25˚C, and the content of an organic solvent in the resin neutralization product is 10 mass% or less; and a method for producing a toner for electrostatic charge image development use, which involves a step of agglutinating and gathering resin particles in the resin particle dispersion produced as mentioned above. Thus, provided are: a method for producing a resin particle dispersion having small particle sizes and has a narrow particle size distribution; and a method for producing a toner having a narrow particle size distribution, excellent dot reproducibility and excellent electrical charge stability.
