Abstract:
Provided is a method of producing a high-quality ring-rolling blank (11), said method including: a step in which a disc-shaped blank (1) for hot forging is heated to a hot-working temperature; a step in which the blank (1) for hot forging is positioned above a lower mold (3) having a truncated cone-shaped protrusion; a step in which a thinned part (4) is formed by the application of pressure to the central part of the blank (1) for hot forging by means of an upper mold (2) having a truncated cone-shaped protrusion; and a step in which the thinned part (4) is removed to form a ring-rolling blank (11). The center of gravity (G) of the cross-section of one side of the ring-rolling blank (11) is located closer to the outer peripheral surface (12) than the center (CP) of the cross-section of the one side in the thickness direction. The shape of the cross-section includes sections (17) where the height decreases, in which the height from a center line (CL) that divides the cross section into two parts in the height direction decreases towards the inner peripheral surface (13). The shape of the cross-section has approximate line-symmetry with the center line (CL) as the axis of symmetry. The height (Hin) of the inner peripheral surface (13) is 20-50% of the maximum height (H1) of the ring-rolling blank (11).
