Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber composition which enables a tire to achieve a good balance between on-ice/on-snow performance and wear resistance; a method for producing the rubber composition; and a tire which can be easily produced and is capable of achieving a good balance between on-ice/on-snow performance and wear resistance. A method for producing a rubber composition according to the present invention is a method for producing a rubber composition that contains: 100 parts by mass of (A) a rubber component containing 80% by mass or more of a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber; (B) a filler containing 80-130 parts by mass of silica having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 85 m2/g or more but less than 120 m2/g; (C) 5-15 parts by mass of a silane coupling agent; (D) thiourea and/or diethyl thiourea; and (E) a vulcanizing agent. This production method is characterized by comprising a kneading step for kneading the rubber composition in a plurality of stages, and is also characterized in that the kneading step comprises: a first kneading stage wherein some or all of 100 parts by mass of the rubber component (A), the filler (B) containing 80 parts by mass or more of silica, 2 parts by mass or more of the silane coupling agent (C) and the thiourea and/or diethyl thiourea (D) are kneaded; and a second kneading stage wherein the kneaded product prepared by kneading in the first kneading stage is kneaded with the vulcanizing agent (E) after the first kneading stage.
