Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a rubber composition comprising: 100 parts by mass of a rubber component (A) containing 50 mass% or more of a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber; a filler (B) containing 80-130 parts by mass of silica; a silane coupling agent (C); 7-20 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin; at least one compound (E) selected from among guanidines, sulfonamides, and thiazoles; an organic oxide (F); and a vulcanizing agent (G). The method is characterized by comprising a kneading step in which the rubber composition is kneaded at a plurality of stages. The method is also characterized in that said kneading step comprises: a first kneading stage in which 100 parts by mass of the rubber component (A), the filler (B) comprising 80 parts by mass or more of silica, the silane coupling agent (C), 7 parts by mass or more of the thermoplastic resin (D), a part or all of the compound (E), and a part or all of the organic oxide (F) are kneaded; and a second kneading stage in which the kneaded mixture that has been adjusted by kneading in the first kneading stage is kneaded together with the vulcanizing agent (G) after the first kneading stage.
