Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a method which is for producing a secondarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer for a highly-water-absorbent recycled polymer, and by which a highly-water-absorbent recycled polymer having a small residual amount of waste can be simply formed. The production method according to the present disclosure has the following feature. A method for producing a secondarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer for a highly-water-absorbent recycled polymer is characterized by comprising: a preparation step for preparing a primarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer which is obtained by immersing a sanitary article-forming material, which forms a sanitary article, in an acid-containing aqueous solution that contains an acid to form the primarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer, and separating the primarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer from the sanitary article-forming material; and a secondary dehydration step for forming a secondarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer by bringing the primarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer into contact with a polyvalent metal ion supply source that can supply polyvalent metal ions to further dehydrate the primarily dehydrated highly-water-absorbent polymer.
